At SKMA we have been offering Professional Wado Ryu Karate and Kickboxing classes since July 1999.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly family run school, Our Chief Instructor Sensei Sean Kinsella (6th Dan) took his first Karate class in 1988 and found a passion for the Martial Arts that could help many students achieve a number of goals and dreams.
SKMA Chief Instructor Sensei Sean Kinsella 6th Dan, has been very fortunate to be taught by top quality Instructors including Master Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan, Sensei Wayne Otto (9x World Kumite Champion) O.B.E Sensei Chris Kent 7th Dan, Sensei Terry Robins 5th DAN, (R.I.P) Sensei Paul Bowman 9th Dan, Bill SUPER FOOT Wallace 10th Dan, Don THE DRAGON Wilson 10th Dan, Cynthia Rothrock 8th DAN, this has shaped his teaching skills helping him to deliver very effective mordern teaching methods to pass on to his SKMA students.
Sensei Sean Kinsella opened his first Karate class to 57 excited Children back in July 1999, and has gone on to help thousands of Children and Adults since then achieve all of their goals.

We are a school that is very active on the competition scene creating numerous champions in many disciplines, we have helped over 160 students to reach BlackBelt and beyond.
In November 2025 we open our Full time academy in Rye with matts, hanging bags, etc helping our SKMA students achieve even more.
Our SKMA Insructors are fully insured, DBS Enhanced Police Checked, First Aid Qualified, Child Protection Certified, and Safeguarding aware.

Annual license fee is £54.
Our sign up fee is £70 when choosing Membership fees.
We offer any new members a free trial session; after this you are welcome to sign up and become a member (see fees page).
